A Prayer of Confession
Scripture Reading: Mark 9:1-29
Lord, forgive my worries and my fears. I confess that, at their root, they are unbelief. These worries cast a dark shadow of doubt over your love, your power, your goodness, your grace… These fears reveal how much I believe everything depends on me and how little I believe it depends on you. These sins expose my duplicity. With my lips I declare you to be Sovereign God, but in my heart, I believe a thousand little gods are controlling my fate. “I believe, Lord, help my unbelief.”
