A Prayer to Begin the New Year
On this, the final day of 2024, I felt this was an appropriate prayer to share and join you in praying going into the New Year…
Father, I humbly present myself to you, aware of how unworthy a sinner I am. But I dedicate myself to you without reservation. You stooped down and offered your Son to save, and your grace has inclined my heart to receive Him. I say, “God, be merciful to me a sinner.”
I come wholly trusting in your Son. For his sake be merciful and remember my sins no more. Receive me. I desire to be yours.
Today, I surrender myself to you. I renounce all my former gods and lords that had dominion over me. I give you all that I am and all that I have - my mind, my body, my time, my possessions, and whatever influence I have over others are all yours.
I dedicate all of this to you to be used for your glory as long as you give me life. I stand ready to immediately follow your will with zeal and joy. I give myself to you to use according to your wisdom and for your glory.
I leave the management of my life to you. I say, “Not my will be done, but yours, be done.”
Use me, Lord, as an instrument of your service. Clothe me in your righteousness and sanctify me by your Spirit. Transform me more and more into the image of your dear Son.
When the hour of death comes, and I enter the valley of the shadow of death, grant that I would know your shepherding presence so that I would not fear.
For now, help me to have a grateful heart for all of your blessings and gifts. Let my words reflect that gratitude of heart and may joy and peace be my constant companions.
Let my life lead others to Jesus Christ so that they might join the multitudes of saints through the ages who sing everlasting praise to you - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Amen

That prayer brings me to my knees. Lord that I could be and do the the things in this beautiful prayer. Amen
AMEN! Blessings for a NEW YEAR!
