A Very Present Help

Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:1-3

Living as we do in “Tornado Alley” I keep thinking one day I will invest in a storm shelter. It would be nice to know that we have somewhere to go if a destructive storm ever decides to bear down on our home.

We don’t have a refuge from tornadoes yet, but we do have a spiritual refuge from whatever life may bring. When the storms come, we do not need to fear. “Though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,” we will not fear because “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
