As He Said

Scripture Reading: Genesis 21:1

The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had promised.

“As he said,” and “As he promised,” are easier to recognize after the fact than before it comes to pass. We can look back and see that God has done exactly as he said he would do and exactly what he promised to do. That time between the giving of the promise by God and the receiving of the answer by us is where the struggle lies.

That between time requires patience and faith. Patience to wait and faith to believe.

If we can learn to rest in God and know that we too will be able to say that the Lord did as he said, and acted as he promised, it will be a great leap forward in our life of faith.
