Faithfulness Required
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:1-2
This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
I like simplicity. I’m not a fan of complicated plans and programs. Give me a three-step process over a twenty-point plan any day. So, I like the simplicity of how Paul lays out the expectations for good stewardship.
It is simple. Be faithful.
The standard is not success because success is a hard metric for us to judge. Faithfulness isn’t hard to figure out. You are or you aren’t.
This fits with what Jesus told the disciples would be said at the judgment of the saints: “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
Be faithful over what God has entrusted to you and you will have met the requirements of a good steward.

Excellent reminder. We (meaning I) make it too complicated.
