Footstools

Scripture Reading: Psalm 110:1

The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”

This is a Messianic Psalm. It refers to Jesus after the ascension sitting at the right hand of God. I have read and heard different understandings of exactly what it means to make enemies into a footstool, or what specifically that constitutes.

However one might describe it, it at minimum means that the enemies of Christ will be under His feet and conquered by Him.

We live in perilous days. A lot is happening, and it is happening faster than we can keep up with it and process it.

I think the thing to remember is, that whatever is happening in this world, however difficult, confusing, or threatening, God is at work conquering Christ’s enemies and putting them under His feet.
