Full Speed Ahead

Scripture Reading: 2 Thessalonians 3:1

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored…

In requesting prayer from the saints at Thessalonica, asks for prayer for himself. Specifically, Paul wanted this church to pray that the word of the would speed ahead and be honored. Some translations have it as “run free course.” A good translation would be “my run along.” The idea is that the word of God proclaimed would meet no obstruction so that it would be carried about rapidly like a runner who has no hindrances in his path.

This Lord’s day this is the kind of prayer you can pray for your pastor and others who are faithfully preaching and teaching the word of God. Pray that nothing would hinder the word of God going forth and that the word would do the work of expanding the kingdom of God rapidly.
