Harvest Time
Scripture Reading: Psalm 126:6
“He who goes out weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”
I remember as a kid confidently singing, “Bringing in the sheep, bringing in the sheep…” until my sister set me straight. Turns out, it was “sheaves,” not “sheep,” inspired by Psalm 126. Even if my version was off, the real message is still about bringing in a harvest after hard, faithful work.
In life, fruitfulness isn’t instant—real growth often comes after seasons of plowing, sowing, and even weeping. Since the fall, our work takes toil, and not everything grows easily. Yet, God promises that when we labor with good seed—whether it’s in prayer, acts of kindness, or patient service—there will be a harvest.
Whether it’s bringing in sheep or sheaves, God assures us that our tearful labor will bear fruit, bringing us home with shouts of joy and hands full of His blessings.
