He Has Made Me Glad
Scripture Reading: Psalm 126:3
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.”
When the Jews returned from their long exile in Babylon, they recognized this deliverance as an undeniable act of God’s grace, not just a turn of fortune. Their gladness was rooted in seeing life through the lens of God’s work. G.K. Chesterton once wrote, “The worst moment for an atheist is when he is really thankful and has no one to thank.” How true this is! A deep, sustaining gladness in God springs from knowing who we owe our blessings to.
If their freedom from physical captivity prompted such joy, how much more should we rejoice in Christ’s ultimate deliverance—rescuing us from sin’s bondage and leading us into eternal life. As those redeemed in Christ, we, too, can boldly say, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.”

What a boessing! Thanks, Steve! The quote from Chesterton was special!
