I Heard Something
about you
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:15-22
Paul faithfully prayed prayers full of gratitude for the Ephesian Christians. He did so because he “had heard of [their] faith in the Lord Jesus and [their] love toward all the saints.” Someone had been talking about them to Paul. Paul doesn’t tell us from whom he heard these things or how the conversation turned toward this subject. But someone said some positive things about the Ephesian Christians. They had faith in Jesus and love for other believers.
What a great thing it would be if we would include in our conversational arsenal a list of people we know who have faith in Christ and a love for others. What we say about others affects people’s perception of them. What if we made it our aim to make their faith and love two of the things we talk about most? It would encourage them to know that someone sees this in them and it would prompt the people to whom we tell these things to pray with gratitude.
