I Saw the Lord
We aren’t told exactly what Isaiah means when he says, “I saw the LORD.” Was this like a dream, was he somehow transported in his spirit into the actual, visible Presence, or was this something else? We simply don’t know.
What we do know, because John the Apostle interprets this for us, is that Isaiah’s vision, whatever that involved, was of Christ. Isaiah was seeing the pre-incarnate Son of God. This was Christ in His glory before Bethlehem.
This is the Jesus we believe in, love, and serve. He is the One seated on the throne, worshipped by angels. He is the One whose glory fills the earth.
