If you love me
feed my sheep
What is the greatest motive for serving others? Jesus gives it to Peter. Peter says, “I love you.” Jesus responds with “feed my sheep.” It has been said that the best thing you can do for a father or mother is to bless and do good for their children. Most parents aren’t all that concerned about how you treat them, but they want you to do right by their sons and daughters. If you love them, doing good for their children is how they would think about it.
This is akin to what Jesus is telling Peter. Peter, if you love me, then take good care of my children. Tend to my lambs.
The best way we can express our love for Christ is by loving His people
