I'll Be Back
God willing
I write for Substack ahead of time. Generally I stay anywhere from a week to a month ahead. So, what you read one morning would have been written three weeks prior. I was down to only a week ahead as of last week when a tornado struck our home town. We were fortunate not to have any significant damage to our home. Others have far worse situations to deal with but the whole city is a big mess.
All of that is to say that we have been without power since the night of the storm and we have no idea when it will be restored. I was able to buy a small generator to keep our fridge and freezer going and to give us a fan to cool things down at night when we sleep.
We don’t have lights or anything else that is powered by electricity, which is pretty much everything. That combined with the daily tasks of getting fuel for the generator and keeping it going and keeping up with my regular work commitments, has prevented me from doing any writing for my daily devotionals.
I have been writing these for about three years or so and I don’t think I have missed a day yet. But as things stand right now I will need to miss a few days. Please be patient. Once we get power back and our routine returns to some level of normal I will get back after it.
I did try to figure out how to write it from the Substack app on my phone, but was unsuccessful. That may be due to my own ineptitude or maybe that isn’t an option on the app. But, God willing, I will get rolling again soon.
I have Saturday stories written ahead of time for a few more weeks, so you should get that this week.
Blessings.
I hope you have a great weekend.
Say a prayer for the folks in Claremore and other areas dealing with recent storm damage.
Steve
