Jesus Can't be Hidden
Scripture Reading: Mark 7:24-30
Chapter seven in Mark’s Gospel records an incident where Jesus went to Tyre to find some respite from his work. Jesus entered a house there and made it clear he did not want his presence there to be made known. Jesus, like all of us, needed some time to be away from people, some time to be refreshed physically and spiritually.
In spite of Jesus’ desire, we are told in verse 24 that he could not be hidden. As I read this I think there is a spiritual application for us to consider. If the Spirit of Christ dwells within us, shouldn’t it be true of us that he can not be hidden?
Jesus is too great, too powerful, too beautiful, too holy, too loving not to be noticed any place in which he lives. Do people see Jesus in us? Surely, he can’t be hidden any more today than he was on that day in Tyre.
