New Bodies Await
Several years ago while I was visiting someone at Norman Regional Hospital, I had left their room and was walking down the hall when I overheard a brief conversation between a patient and a nurse coming from a nearby room.
The nurse asked, “Can I get you anything else?”
The patient replied, “Yes, a new body.”
The nurse let out a quiet laugh and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t do that.”
The words of that patient brought a smile to my face also, as the Holy Spirit gently reminded me that I knew Someone who could give them a new body.
Paul put it this way: “For we know if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
What phenomenal words these are from God to us who believe. These are words of hope, joy and victory through our resurrected and living Lord. May these words shine in your heart and lift your eyes toward heaven with confident expectation of our Savior’s coming for us either through rapture or through death.
