No Need to Worry
Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:26-34
Carried by the wind or dropped by a bird, a single insect wing was somehow laid upon our patio table. I had carried a cup of coffee and my Bible to the back porch for morning devotions when it caught my eye. The larger diameter of its leading-edge supporting the more delicate skeletal structure to which the membrane was attached…The clean, straight, gently sloped edges…The symmetry of its inner structure…The colors which faded from green to brown, providing camouflage protection from predators…The joint which once held it securely to the bug’s body and allowed it to rapidly move to give the insect both lift and thrust…
It was both beautiful and complex in its design. A bug. Something for a bird to eat or a boy to catch on a summer’s evening of horseplay. A small insect. Here today is gone tomorrow. Never known and therefore never forgotten. Still, wondrously stunning.
It is not out of bounds to extrapolate at this point. I can stop worrying.

Thank you!
