Nothing But the Blood
Scripture Reading: Exodus 24-25; Psalm 29
Exodus 24 presents a fascinating tension and progression. At the beginning of the chapter, God commands Moses that the people must worship from a distance. Yet, by the end of the chapter, we see the elders of Israel drawing near, gazing upon God, and even eating in His presence.
What changed?
The turning point is found in the middle of the chapter, where Moses sprinkles the blood of the sacrifice on the altar and on the people. This act of being “under the blood” transforms their relationship with God. Once the blood covers them, they are no longer held back by fear or distance. They are free to draw near and enjoy fellowship with Him.
This points us to the ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Through His sacrificial death, the blood of Christ covers those who believe. Because of this, we can approach God without fear, coming boldly to the throne of grace. And one day, we will not only draw near but will see Him face-to-face, joining in the great marriage supper of the Lamb.
The difference between staying far away and drawing near is simple yet profound: the blood of Jesus.

Great observation Steve! Praise the Lord for Jesus, and his shed blood applied to us through faith!
