Saved Ships
It was a steady, cold rain this morning when we got up. Monica and I had breakfast and hoped it would break. It did, but not until later in the morning.
Things started clearing, so Derrick, Amber, Monica, and I took a walk up the shoreline road and then circled back through a market street.
It wasn’t overly crowded. I assume because it was Saturday and the weather was dreary that folks were staying in. Neither Amber or Monica had the experience of riding in a pousse-pousse yet, so we flagged a couple down and had them take us the two-mile journey to the newish Miami Beach area.
We paid the minimal fee to go in and then another fee to use the bathroom. I would say I wasn’t worth the expense but we did need the bathroom break.
There is a rock pier there. We walked out and watched the Hoegh-Osaka cargo ship being docked. Tug boats. A fraction of the size of the massive Osaka, had ropes tied on and pulled it up to dock to unload its cargo.
Derrick used chat gpt to learn the ship had almost capsized once and was badly damaged. The damage was so extensive that it was almost decommissioned. But it was saved, repaired, and put back into service.
Sounds like a Christian ship.
