Sharing Christ
Scripture Reading: Acts 4:1-31
Tinker, an Anglo-Indian railway worker, never hesitated to share the gospel of Christ with his fellow workers and passengers. Some of the non-Christian workers decided to give Tinker some trouble and they accused him of breaking the pictures of their pagan deities. This caused a stir among the townspeople and a riot almost broke out. As a result Tinker was forbidden from talking about Jesus Christ in his place of work.
This broke his heart. One day the urge to evangelize was so strong he took some tracts with him when he went to the train station. He stood on the platform holding them in his hands not knowing what to do. With tears in his eyes he longed for a way to share his faith. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew the tracts from his hands and scattered them all over the platform. In seconds people grabbed them and started to read them. Some of them even blew into open train windows where the passengers devoured them. Tinker’s heart was filled with gratitude as he realized that even though his hands were tied, God’s were not and he could still be used to tell the good news. May God give us the same kind of longing and passion to share the gospel that Tinker had.
