Show Mercy
Monica and Amber spent the day with Aimee. That’s the plan for each day while Derrick and I are teaching. Tuesday morning they went to the store to buy what they needed for the meals we will be eating in their rental.
They spent time before lunch helping with the kids homeschooling. We came for lunch and afterward they dropped us off at the church and they went to a market area where they prayer-walked and looked for evangelism opportunities.
After the afternoon session Neil, a local missionary, picked Derrick, Mark, and I up and took us out to the port where we met back up with the ladies and kids.
Mercy Ship Africa is in port here with plans for a two-year service to Tamatave. Neil has taken on a role as a liaison between Mercy Ships and the area churches to help coordinate ministry.
He was able to arrange a tour of the ship and we had dinner on board. The ship is home to several hundred staff and volunteers who provide needed medical care to the locals who would otherwise not receive it.
Afterward, we returned to the hotel for the night.
