Sin in the Camp
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 5:1-8
Sin is a personal problem. It is also a corporate problem. The church is a body. Each member is spiritually connected to the other. The Corinthian church had many problems and not the least of which was a tolerance for sin. But it wasn’t tolerance alone that plagued them. It was arrogance. At least that is the way Paul described their response to sin in the church. Arrogance was evidenced by a lack of mourning. They weren’t sorrowing over sin.
Sin is serious. A church should take it seriously because Christ takes it seriously.
