Tents
who will live in them?
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 54-55
Isaiah 54 speaks of the marvelous fruit and outcome of the Servant’s suffering. The barren will sing because “the children of the desolate will be more than the children of her who is married.” In verse two the command is given to “enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out…For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations and will people the desolate cities…”
Who is it that will inhabit these cities and lands? Who will live in these tents?
Isaiah 55 gives us the answer. The invitation is wide open. Anyone who thirsts can come to the waters and drink. Jesus echoed this sentiment when he said that anyone who came to Him, He would never cast out. He offered Himself as the Water and Bread of Life, freely given to any who will come by faith and receive Him.
