The Forgotten God
Scripture Reading: Psalm 94:1-7
This text of Scripture isn’t full of verses that will be printed on t-shirts or engraved on wall plaques and hung in hallways. It speaks of the God who avenges and judges and gives the proud and wicked the justice they deserve.
God is a God of grace. He is also the Holy God of just wrath. These are not mutually exclusive attributes. We tend to presume upon the one and ignore the other. We rejoice in the grace, mercy, and love of God. We should. At the same time, we must not forget that those who refuse that grace, the forgiveness extended by and through Christ’s death and resurrection, by necessity, must face the judgment of a Holy God.
