Toxic
The sign along the bank of the Uncompahgre River north of Ouray, Colorado read “Toxic.” The water in the river is deadly to all aquatic life. There are no fish in that water. No plants are growing in that section of the stream. Heavy metals flow downstream from the Red Mountains and become toxic to all living things.
