True Rest
Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 20-22; Acts 15; Psalm 16
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around. – 2 Chronicles 20:30
Rest is good.
God wove it into the fabric of life.
Six days you shall labor… and then, rest.
But there is rest.
And there is rest.
There’s the kind we carve out for ourselves.
The weekend.
The vacation.
The quiet evening at home.
Good things.
Necessary things.
Our bodies need them.
Our minds need them.
But there is another kind of rest.
The kind only God gives.
Jehoshaphat knew that rest.
It wasn’t something he scheduled.
It wasn’t something he earned.
It was grace. Pure grace.
His enemies fell silent.
His fears quieted.
His worries gave way to faith.
And it wasn’t just political.
Or economic.
Or geopolitical.
It was heart-rest.
Soul-rest.
The kind that seeps down into the cracks of life and settles there.
May God be gracious to us and give us that kind of quiet.
Rest all around.

Let it be so!!!!!!!
