Turning the Bones

I have learned to expect the unexpected when doing training in a different culture. One of the challenges, when you are teaching cross-culturally, is finding relatable and appropriate analogies and illustrations for the points you are making. I use caution when interjecting illustrations that might make sense in America because I know I will likely get blank stares in most places. I also realize that whoever is doing the translation will struggle if I use analogies or idioms that don’t relate well to their language or culture.
