Unto Jesus
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:31-46
Certain people, because of their celebrity status, get perks. They go out to eat, it’s on the house. Concert, free back-stage passes, and front row seats. Funny thing is, they don’t need the freebies. They can afford to pay, but they get them anyway. The people who could use a break, the blue-collar, nine-to-fivers have to pay, and they sit in the back. That’s the way life goes.
If Jesus showed up I suspect he would get the celeb treatment. If he needed something, someone would hand it to Him, and it would be on the house. Rightly so.
The thing is, Jesus is showing up all the time. At least that’s what he said. He shows up in the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, and the imprisoned. He shows up in the least of these.
How we respond to “the least of these” says more about us than it does about them. Read it for yourself. Jesus said it. It’s true.
Look for Jesus today. He is likely to present Himself to you in unexpected ways.
