Very Present
Scripture Reading: Psalm 46
The Psalmist says God is a “very present help in trouble.” He is not merely present. He is very present. You have probably been with someone present, but not very present. They are listening, but not hearing. They are there in body, but somewhere else in spirit.
God is with us and He is with us intensely. He hears, understands (even when we don’t get all the words just right), and knows (because, as God, He knows us and our situation better than we ever could). Unlike others, God is not just present and accounted for. God is very present – especially in our time of trouble.
