Walk the Talk
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 20:6
Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?
Today’s verse reminds us of the value of integrity in our daily lives. A lot of people talk a big game and blow their own horn. Few actually live it out. As Christians, it is important to follow through on our commitments and do what we say.
Whether it is in our relationships with our family members, in our work, or our church life we need to pursue integrity and faithfulness. This begins with a commitment to honesty and sincerity. Our yes should be yes and our no should be no. Our love for others needs to be sincere and not mere lip service.
The real test of our faithfulness will come when things get difficult, as they surely will. Following through when it is inconvenient and hard requires patience and perseverance. Ultimately, the true source of our faithfulness must come from God. We must trust Him for the strength and we must pray to him for His Spirit’s help to be the kind of people who walk the talk.
