We Need Each Other
Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
.
Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”
"Two are better than one, for if they fall, one will lift up his fellow." There’s wisdom in understanding that we aren't meant to face life’s headwinds alone. And the truth is, life has plenty of those headwinds—whether they’re challenges at work, family hardships, or personal struggles.
And that's the point: our successes, even if they feel personal, are rarely accomplished alone. Even our personal preparation, effort, and commitment are often supported by the people around us—friends, family, and mentors. We each have individual responsibilities, but Ecclesiastes reminds us that we accomplish the most when we work together, supporting each other through challenges.
Think of the areas in your life where you’re facing strong winds. Who’s alongside you? You must find people who are going to work with you for your success. But also, you should ask yourself who you are helping to be successful and how are you supporting each other. Whether it’s in this workplace, your family, or your community, there’s power and wisdom in leaning on others and being someone others can lean on.
Let’s take this to heart in our work, our relationships, and our challenges. Whatever you’re working toward, remember that we all get further, and stay stronger, together.
