What About Him
Peter had the same kinds of problems we all have. One of those is our bent toward worrying too much about what God is doing with and through other people. That is not to suggest we shouldn’t care or be interested in what God does through others. Peter’s problem, and ours at times, is we do too much comparison work.
Paul called it, “comparing ourselves among ourselves.” We see a friend get promoted or do well in their career and we ask, “what about me?” Or, like Peter, we are led down a path of trial by God and we wonder, “Lord, what about this man?”
Jesus answer to Peter is one we all need to hear at times:
If it is my will that he remains until I come, what is that to you? You follow me.
“What is that to you?”
“You follow me.”
That’s a good question to keep in mind, and an indispensable command to prioritize.
