What Counts?
Recently someone asked me how many countries I had been to. The conversational context allowed me to interpret the question as, “How many countries have you done ministry in?”
It took me a good minute to do the count, but I came up to ten.
We are in Atlanta waiting for a flight to Paris. That’s sounds great. I’ve been to Paris at least three times, but they don’t count because I’ve never stepped foot outside the airport.
I’ve got a long list of “that doesn’t count” countries. France, England, Switzerland, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea…been there haven’t done that.
The way I keep score is you have to do something while you’re there for it to count. Just passing through and visiting the gift shop doesn’t qualify.
Everything in life should work like this. You gotta do something before it counts.
