When You Need Some Level Ground

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground…

Life is full of hills and valleys. We experience highs and lows, excitement, and exasperation. Sometimes we just need a few stretches of level road, smooth pavement without all the potholes and a little less traffic congestion.

There are some seasons of life when you need to catch your breath, rest your legs, and recover your zeal and enthusiasm.

That’s okay.

And it is okay to pray for that.

Further, you can be in God’s will walking on level ground as much as you are climbing the rugged peaks. Doing God’s will doesn’t always have to mean slogging through the valley or struggling up the mountain. It can mean walking on level ground.

If that is what you need, pray for it. The Spirit of God is good and He can lead you on level ground as well as up and through a mountain pass.
