Who Do You Listen To?
Psalm 11
The Psalmist was hearing someone say, “flee.” He was being tempted to put his trust in someone or something other than the LORD. The bow of the wicked was bent. The arrow was on the string. It was dark. He was in danger.
His options were to trust God as his refuge or find some other refuge to which he could flee. The advice coming to him was to flee.
We should always be cautious about the kind of counsel we receive from others when we are in trouble. Proverbs encourages us to seek counsel. That isn’t the problem. The problem is from whom the counsel comes. One simple test to determine whether we should be listening to someone’s advice or not is to discern whether doing what they suggest would bring us closer to or further away from Christ? Would following their counsel look like faith or unbelief if we did what they said?

Very thought provoking
