I too, remember the days of being the TG&Y stockboy and the training of a newbie when one would join the ranks. I remember how proud I was when the store manager would toss me the keys to his ‘69 Chevy pickup and send me to the Ranch Acres branch to pick up sale items we were running short of. I was barely 16 and he trusted me to drive across town and back. I felt like a big shot.
